Hi, I’m Cecil

Hi, my name is Cecil and I'm a Jardine River Turtle, also known as a Painted River Turtle! In the wild my species is endangered; I cannot be released as I am a domestic animal, but I will make an extra special pet.

I enjoy basking on my log, swimming in the pond and eating! I will follow you around the pool and pop my head up to investigate, but don't really enjoy coming out to be handled like most turtles. I love my varied diet of cut up fish and prawns, crickets, chopped greens and pellets.

To keep me happy and comfortable I require a large glass tank with furniture, a water heater, basking heat light and UV light or even better an outdoor pond!
