About Us:
We are a dynamic duo of Fischer's Lovebirds, a bonded pair who are practically inseparable! We came into rescue together and have thrived on each other's company. We're a vibrant and lively pair, full of energy and curiosity. We love to chatter to each other, explore our surroundings, and engage in typical lovebird antics like preening each other and snuggling up close.
We're still getting used to human interaction, but we're making progress! We're not hand-tame yet, but we are comfortable with our humans being nearby and providing us with yummy treats and fresh water. We're looking for a patient and understanding family who is willing to continue our socialisation journey at our pac
As a Pair: We are a true team! We love to bounce ideas off each other (literally!), explore together, and provide each other with comfort and security. We are incredibly bonded and would be heartbroken to be separated.
What We're Looking For in a Home:
A Spacious Aviary or Cage: We need plenty of room to fly, climb, and play! A cage with horizontal bars is ideal for climbing. We also love having lots of perches of varying sizes and textures.
Enrichment, Enrichment, Enrichment!: We are intelligent birds and need lots of toys to keep us entertained. Shredding toys, foraging toys, swings, and bells are some of our favorites. We also love branches to chew on and explore.
A Patient and Loving Family: We need a family who understands that building trust takes time. Someone who will provide us with a calm and predictable environment and work with us at our pace.
Daily Out-of-Cage Time: We thrive on the opportunity to explore a safe, bird-proofed area outside of our cage. This allows us to exercise and satisfy our natural curiosity.
A Commitment to Our Lifelong Care: Lovebirds can live for 10-15 years (or even longer!), and we need a family who is prepared for that commitment. This includes providing us with a healthy diet, regular vet check-ups, and a safe and stimulating environment.
Understanding of Lovebird Needs: Researching and understanding the specific needs of Fischer's Lovebirds is crucial. This includes their dietary requirements (a varied diet of pellets, fresh fruits, vegetables, and occasional seeds), the importance of providing a safe environment, and the signs of common illnesses.
No Separation: We are a bonded pair and must be adopted together. Separating us would cause significant stress and likely negatively impact our well-being.
