Aspen is a beautiful Scaly-breasted Lorikeet with a gentle personality and a lot of potential. Due to the monogamous nature of the species and the lack of visible differences between males and females, Aspen's gender is currently unknown.

Aspen is quiet, curious, and friendly, showing a special interest in being hand-fed by humans. Although not yet hand-tame, Aspen is slowly building confidence and will thrive with the right person who's willing to invest the time and care needed to build a trusting bond.

🏡 What Aspen Needs in a Forever Home:

🐦 Social Interaction
Lorikeets are highly social birds and require daily companionship, either from humans or other lorikeets. Aspen needs a home where they won't be left alone for long periods. Interaction, play, and bonding time are essential to Aspen's well-being.

🏠 Spacious Living Environment
Aspen needs a large flight cage or aviary that allows for plenty of movement, climbing, and flying. Lorikeets are very active and need space to stretch their wings and explore their surroundings.

🍓 Proper Diet
Scaly-breasted Lorikeets require a specialized nectar-based diet, not seeds. Aspen's meals should include: a high-quality lorikeet nectar formula and daily servings of fresh fruits and vegetables.

🎲 Enrichment & Stimulation
Aspen is intelligent and needs mental stimulation through a variety of toys, including: foraging toys, puzzle toys, shreddable materials and regular rotation and variety are important to prevent boredom and encourage natural behaviors.
