Meet Horchata - Spunky, Sensitive, and Full of Potential
Horchata is a young male cat with a big personality hidden beneath a cautious exterior. He came from a home with many other cats and very little human interaction, so the world can feel like a pretty overwhelming place for him right now - especially as it appears he is deaf. Not being able to hear what's going on around him adds to his uncertainty, and his initial response to new situations or people is often to hiss and keep his distance.
But behind that front is a cat who's learning that human affection can feel really good.
Horchata isn't quite confident enough to seek out attention just yet, but once he feels safe, gentle cheek and chin strokes melt his defenses. He begins to soften, leaning in with head bunts and rolling over in contentment. His affectionate side is playful and a little cheeky - he may get a bit overexcited with too much petting and express himself with a little nibble or some dramatic vocals. He's spunky, and he knows it!
Horchata will need a patient and understanding adopter who can go at his pace and respect his boundaries as he continues to build trust. A quiet home with a calm, confident cat companion could really help him blossom.
