Hi, I’m Poppy

Please see if Poppy's the one for you...

Some cats strut around the home like they own the place (they probably do) whilst other cats have wallflower purr-sonalities (they like a very quiet life). Our beautiful Poppy's nature tends to be the latter one. Poppy is a stunning lady with a beautiful, black tortoiseshell colour coat. Tortoiseshell cats are known to have sassy natures, however Poppy is shy and gentle with a loving purr-sonality that's just waiting to burst out when she meets her patient and kind guardian.

Poppy is seeking a "FOREVER' home, where she will be well cared for and doted on as part of the family. This means considering a time commitment of approximately 11 years when applying to adopt her. Her ideal home would be:-

A CALM/MATURE HOUSEHOLD is one with children over 10 years. Poppy has not lived with young children or other cats. It is possible that she has lived with a dog in the past, however Poppy would need assistance to help her co-habit with one.

A "LAUNCH ROOM" which is an area (bedroom or crate) that she can feel secure in. This would be a great addition in her new home and it would be an effective way to help with her shyness and achieve a successful transition. Please ask us for further information.

NUTRITIONAL DIET AND CARE- This is one of high-quality dry biscuits, healthy wet food and bowls of fresh, cool water. Regular visits to the vet are still required after Poppy has left the shelter.

INSIDE LIFESTYLE. Why? Poppy must be an indoor cat to protect the wildlife from harm and also keep her safe from outside dangers. Poppy has never lived outside and it would be a very confronting environment for her. The RSPCA strongly recommends that cats live inside and for further information, please refer to this website:- https://safeandhappycats.com.au.

INDOOR ENTERTAINMENT - Please provide a couple of large cat scratchers near a window and a family room. Why? To protect your furniture, keep Poppy's muscles and nails healthy, and cats love to go up high. She loves resting anywhere with a view of the outside world. It's like Cat TV for her. Therefore warm window-sills, window boxes or large cat scratchers will make her very content. Purr
