Hi, I’m Maxie

Maxie is a sweet, energetic girl looking for an active family that can give her the attention and love she craves. She thrives in a household where she can be included in activities and would love to be an indoor/outdoor dog. She'd enjoy being inside with her family when they're home to help strengthen their bond. Maxie is great with people and loves attention, making her well-suited to most family dynamics, especially with calm older teens. Maxie will need someone home more often during her settling-in period to help her adjust to her new environment and routine. She's an intelligent girl who loves enrichment activities, so when left alone, she should have things to do, like food puzzles, Kongs, or frozen treats, to keep her mind and body engaged. She also needs a structured routine to teach her basic manners, as she can be a little jumpy when excited and still working on learning to stay calm. She would do best in a home with secure 5ft fencing-no gaps or foot holes-as she can be a bit fixated on toys and may show some guarding behavior. While Maxie is social with other dogs when introduced properly, she can become easily aroused and snappy if another dog is too boisterous. However, once she's settled after meeting, she walks calmly with other well-behaved dogs. Regular social walks with calm dogs would help her keep her social skills up and build her confidence.
