Coming soon... a new Adoption House!

Posted May 2, 2025
We're excited to announce a new partnership which will see the construction of the Clare May Real Estate Adoption House!

With the motto Dream Homes for People, Forever Homes for Pets, we couldn't think of a more paw-fect pairing than an exciting new concept in the works at RSPCA Queensland.

On April 30, RSPCA Queensland announced a new partnership with Clare May Real Estate with a Turning of the Sod event at our Brisbane Animal Care Campus. We celebrated the shared vision and values of both organisations and showcased how the construction of the Clare May Real Estate Adoption House will transform our meet-and-greet experience for potential pet adopters.

Creating a calm and nurturing space that reflects the comfort of a real home, this new accessible facility will provide a suitable space for adopters and their new companions to bond before going home!

The project will also provide vital support to our Pets in Crisis clients which provides emergency boarding for pets belonging to individuals and families escaping domestic violence.

“Partnerships are absolutely critical to the work we do,” says Kylie Sprott, RSPCA Queensland interim CEO.

“We rely so heavily on community support, and to have a partner like Clare May Real Estate, who truly understands our mission and the power of connection, is incredibly meaningful.”

The idea for the dedicated space onsite at the RSPCA resulted from a challenge our Animal Care teams face every day – finding a cool, calm space in a busy shelter environment where our animals can put their best paws forward when meeting their potential families – and an area suitable for the family dog to meet RSPCA dogs too!

That challenge sparked a dream — to create a dedicated adoption space where meaningful bonds could be formed. With Clare May Real Estate’s generous support, that dream is becoming reality.

For Clare and her team, their RSPCA Queensland partnership is personal.

“We help people find homes every day, but we wanted to do something more — something that helps animals find their homes too,” Clare shares. “This isn’t just a donation. It’s the beginning of a genuine partnership, and one we hope to grow.”

The Clare May Real Estate Adoption House will feature a shaded deck, ramp access, internal cooling, and an adjoining secure play yard — all designed with accessibility and animal welfare in mind. Permanent signage will serve as a tribute to the legacy of the partnership and a reminder to visitors of the role community plays in changing lives.

RSPCA Queensland extends heartfelt thanks to Clare May Real Estate and looks forward to the positive impact this space will have on countless animals and families into the future.
