At this stage, all RSPCA Qld facilities, shelters and services remain open to the public. This follows operational changes and precautions for the safety of our animals, staff, volunteers, customers and supporters during this time. We have reviewed and aligned our emergency plans across the state to the risks of COVID-19 and will continue to monitor the situation closely.
Further proactive measures are well underway with virtual business operations being increased, all staff and volunteers with the ability to work remotely will begin doing so in an effort to support social distancing.
All RSPCA Qld facilities use hospital-grade disinfectant and have hand-washing stations at the entrance of our shelters. To date there is no evidence that companion animals become sick with COVID-19 and certainly no evidence that companion or other animals are involved in the spread of the disease.
We will keep you updated on the status of your local RSPCA facility and the situation as it unfolds via our social media channels.
To our staff, volunteers, foster carers and supporters who continue to help us save lives during this difficult time, thank you.
