Ben Deverson joined the Board in July 2024 and joined the RSPCA as an independent member of the Community Engagement Committee from late January 2024. Ben is an experienced Director, senior executive, and consultant, and has 28 years' experience across numerous industry sectors including professional services, infrastructure, defence, resources and the public sector.
Ben has his own business providing management consulting services to legal practices across Australia and around the World, called ‘Lawganised’, and is generally considered the pre-eminent adviser to the legal profession in Australia.
Ben holds a Bachelor of Business Management from the University of New England and is also a graduate of the Royal Military College of Australia and served as an Australian Army Officer before commencing a career in senior management roles in some of the world’s largest professional services firms, including Human Resources and Practice Manager of ‘Big 4’ firm, Ernst & Young, prior to being appointed as Chief Operating Officer for accounting and advisory firm, BDO. Ben also spent several years in commercial management roles including as General Manager, Customer Operations of the ASX listed RiverCity Motorway Group and General Manager of the GasFields Commission. Prior to his current role, Ben was the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of a law firm based in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane.
Ben is also a Non-Executive Director AEIOU Foundation for Children with Autism and Chairs their Finance & Risk Committee. He is also a Non-Executive Director of The Autism Foundation Australia Limited. Ben is also a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (MAICD).
Ben is married and lives in Brisbane with his three children, two dogs, Stanley and Gracie, and cat, Maximus. Ben is an animal lover having grown up with animals his whole life and he and his wife often offer their home for pet minding for various family and friends around Brisbane.
