RSPCA Queensland has been attending the Ekka since 2006 with our Education Mobile Unit (EMU). Hundreds of children and their parents come through our interactive classroom on wheels to learn animal welfare while they enjoy the Queensland show.
This year we are in a brand new spot at the Ekka at the old museum site! The theme is all about bringing biodiversity back to our backyard. Our RSPCA team will be giving stage presentations every day about domestic reptiles and what it takes to care for and own a reptile. Volunteer Laurece will be back again this year with her foster kittens to showcase not only appropriate pet care, but also ways that cats and wildlife can co-exist with the help of cat enclosures.
