Over the past few months at the RSPCA, we’ve had to drastically shift how we operate with the closure of our shelters, op shops and services due to COVID-19.
We’re pleased to announce that finally, we are reopening our RSPCA shelters across Queensland from Saturday June 27! Of course, this means we will also be adhering to government regulations with visitor number limits at any one time, social distancing and hygiene practices.
One big change that will continue into the future is the NEW RSPCA Adoption Journey. Adopting a pet during COVID-19 has allowed us to refine and review how we find pets their loving, new families.

While our shelters will be open from Saturday June 27, this doesn’t mean that every pet available to adopt will be onsite and available to adopt in person. So to avoid disappointment, Apply to Adopt Online and our team can find you the best possible family member.
Our opening times and days have also changed. Please view your nearest RSPCA location to see operating hours before you stop by!
Most of our Op Shops have now re-opened! Find your nearest RSPCA Op Shop here. At this stage we cannot accept donations of pre-loved items just yet, but that’s not too far away…
Great news for doggos everywhere! We will be continuing our RSPCA School for Dogs online training classes – great for any dog owner across Queensland – no need to attend a physical location!
Our Call Centre remains open 24/7 to answer your calls. If you have an animal welfare concern, please call us on 1300 ANIMAL (1300 264 625). You can report cruelty on our hotline too, or complete our online form.
COVID-19 forced us to significantly change our RSPCA services, processes and sadly, that has also meant saying goodbye to some great staff and volunteers where roles have also changed. It would be remiss not to thank those who we’ve had to farewell and thank them for their tireless work and dedication to the RSPCA. We are truly thankful for everyone’s ongoing support of RSPCA Queensland, we look forward to seeing you soon.
