Evie was even forced to learn to walk on her front legs in order to avoid the pain of taking simple steps.
The vets initially considered letting Evie pass over the rainbow bridge to a place free of pain. However, RSPCA Queensland were able to control her discomfort and Evie was able to eat. Although understandably shaken, Evie still loves being around people and her beautiful personality shines through in the face of adversity.
After careful assessment by RSPCA Queensland and Dr Wendy Archipow and her team at Brisbane Veterinary Specialist Centre, it was decided that Evie still had the possibility of a quality life ahead of her - but it’s going to be a long road.
Evie has an extensive list of injuries that require immediate attention, including fractures to her cranium, teeth, ribs, both femurs and hip. Thanks to those who have already generously donated, Evie’s surgery is confirmed for 9am Wednesday, September 27.
If her initial surgery is successful, there still remains complex physiotherapy and rehabilitation from the team at RSPCA Queensland. All donations to Evie’s cause will go towards her long and expensive road to recovery.
