Bring your class to RSPCA Brisbane, Wacol! We have a range of excursions available from our Wacol facility. The excursion includes a shelter tour, presentation talk and activity and runs for approximately 2.5 hours. If it's just a tour than this runs for approximately 60 minutes.
Kids (school age)
RSPCA Queensland is excited to be offering students the opportunity to visit us ta our Wacol facility to learn about how they can impact the lives of all creatures great and small. Teachers can choose from one of the following topics.
Cats, Cats and More Cats
Every year, RSPCA Qld is inundated with abandoned and stray kittens. Cats, cats and more cats, aims to teach students about the importance of desexing and microchipping pets to overcoe issues such as overpopulation and lost pets.
I Can Make a Difference
I can make a difference has been developed to provide learnings geared towards students to foster compassion, promote a sense of responsibility, and inspire connection with animals, people and their environment.
Students will be taken through a number of activities designed to assist them to recognise human and animal emotions and how we feel and act are similar.

- How much does the excursion cost? The full excursion package is $10.00 + GST per child attending.
- What is the maximum group size? Minimum group size: 12 students
- How long do the excursions go for? Full package excursions are 2.5 hours long.
If just the tour is chosen, then it will be $100.00 + GST.
Maximum group size: 30 students
Tour only is 60 minutes in duration.

Career Expo
Our career expo is a great way for students to explore a career in animal welfare post school. Students can speak to representatives who work in various animal and non-animal facing roles. Speakers include representatives from:
- Inspectorate and Rescue
- Vet Services
- Animal Training and Rehabilitation
- Animal Experience team (Animal Care)
- Call Centre and Customer Experience
- Marketing and Fundraising team

Give Back Program
Our Give Back Program provides students with the opportunity to support shelter animals and provide essential help to shelter staff. Students will be provided with meaningful shelter tasks which are essential to ensuring shelter animals are provided with appropriate care. Tasks can include:
- Cleaning out cat crates/animal cages
- Making enrichment toys for shelter or community-based animals
- Packing up items (food, toys, etc) for our foster animals
- Sorting through donated items
