What a rough start to life! Couper-Lee was smaller than small when he arrived at our Brisbane RSPCA Animal Care Campus at just 5 weeks of age.
He had a large gash on his leg and was in incredible pain. With symptoms of vomiting, yelping and being visibly unsettled it was traumatic to witness by our vets and volunteers. Couper-Lee’s owners were unsure of the cause of his injuries and distress and made the decision that putting him down was the only viable option due to their financial situation.
Luckily for little Couper-Lee, after being admitted to the RSPCA, our doctors were able to diagnose the cause of his illness and give him the care he desperately needed to recover. Once Couper-Lee was out of the danger zone, he was matched to one of our loving foster carers who assisted in looking after Couper-Lee throughout his recovery.
After fitting in so well with his foster family and their two dogs, Couper-Lee has now become a permanent family member and absolutely loves play time with his two older siblings.
Couper-Lee is lucky to have received the care of the RSPCA and with your support we can continue to assist with providing medical care to animals in need. Events like our Million Paws Walk is a great way to get involved and have fun! More than 20,000 people will walk at 22 different locations across Queensland on Sunday 15 May 2016 - join the walk to raise money and awareness for animal care in Queensland; it is RSPCA Queensland's biggest and most important fundraising event of the year.
Register now for your local walk location and start fundraising today! Even if you don't have a dog, you can still join a walk and raise vital funds. Money raised through online fundraising, the sale of merchandise from our World for Pets stores and activities on the day will help to fund our critical work in the community, including the care of more than 15,000 dogs entering our shelters each year.
Taking part in the RSPCA Million Paws Walk is a great way to help animals in need. All animal lovers are encouraged to brush off their walking shoes, pull out their pet’s leash and bring along their ‘best friend’ to Australia’s leading pet event.
Thank you for helping us to help pups like Couper-Lee find their furever home!
